§ Art XXVI. Signature, ratification, acceptance, approval or accession

This Protocol shall be open for signature in Cape Town on 16 November 2001 by States participating in the Diplomatic Conference to Adopt a Mobile Equipment Convention and an Aircraft Protocol held at Cape Town from 29 October to 16 November 2001. After 16 November 2001, this Protocol shall be open to all States for signature at the Headquarters of the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) in Rome until it enters into force in accordance with Article XXVIII. This Protocol shall be subject to ratification, acceptance or approval by States which have signed it. Any State which does not sign this Protocol may accede to it at any time. Ratification, acceptance, approval or accession is effected by the deposit of a formal instrument to that effect with the Depositary. A State may not become a Party to this Protocol unless it is or becomes also a Party to the Convention. Denne protokoll skal legges fram til undertegning i Cape Town den 16. november 2001 for deltakerstatene på Diplomatkonferansen om vedtakelse av en konvensjon om mobilt løsøre og en protokoll om luftartsutstyr i Cape Town fra 29. oktober til 16. november 2001. Etter 16. november 2001 skal denne protokoll kunne undertegnes av alle stater ved UNIDROITs hovedkontor (Det internasjonale institutt for ensartet privatrett) i Roma, fram til den trer i kraft i samsvar med artikkel XXVIII. Denne protokoll skal ratifiseres, godtas eller godkjennes av signatarstatene. Enhver stat som ikke undertegner denne protokoll, kan tiltre den på ethvert tidspunkt. Ratifikasjon, godtakelse, godkjenning eller tiltredelse skal finne sted ved at det deponeres et formelt dokument for dette formål hos depositaren. En stat kan ikke bli part i denne protokoll med mindre den også er eller blir part i konvensjonen.
